The Ministry of Economic Affairs had announced the amendment of "Types of Strategic High-tech Commodities, Specific Strategic High-tech Commodities and Exportation to Restricted Regions" on April 6 this year, adding the dual-use list of high-tech commodities for exportation to Russia. The list regulates 57 controlled commodities to enhance export controls on dual-use items and was later expanded to cover Belarus. After the new amendment took effect on May 6, exporters must apply for export licenses issued by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) in advance before exporting the listed items to Russia or Belarus.
Kaohsiung Customs reminds exporters to faithfully abide by export regulations and conduct due diligence. When declaring the aforementioned commodities to be exported to Russia or Belarus, exporters must fill in the required export license numbers to prevent penalties.
